James Grieve Apple

The variety is developed by James Grieve, who was attached to nursery company Dickens & Co. in Edinburg, which began to spread the variety in the 1890s. James Grieve Apple came supposedly to this country in the early 1900s, where it has been quite widespread.
The fruit is medium to large on young trees, something less on old trees. The apple is high built, beautiful and shapely. Shadow fruits are completely yellow, sun-drenched fruit achieves an orange sunny side. The skin is shiny and smooth. The flesh is yellowish, loose, juicy, well-smelling and delicate sweetness full. James Grieve is considered one of our finest eating apples. James Grieve can be harvested from late August to mid-September.

Good apple variety to the garden.
