Scion wood are collected from shoots that grew the previous year. Vigorous growth from top of the tree makes the best scions.

Scion wood is mostly collected during the dormant season. But can be collected until the buds break in the spring. |

Remember to label the scions. |

An easy way to store scion wood is to wrap it into a wet newspaper and bury it in the soil. - or wrap it into a wet newspaper, put it in plastic bags and store it in a refrigerator.

When time comes for grafting, put the scions in water, and it won't dry out. |
