Believed to have originated in Belgium or the Netherlands. It was first described in 1830. Widely grown in Europe.

It is a medium-sized tree with an upright crown. It is a very healthy and hardy tree that does not get apple cancer. Thrives even in moist soil.

The fruits are medium-sized, flat round. The base color is yellow-green. Cover color is dark red to purple with many star-shaped spots. The flesh is yellowish white, juicy with sweet tart taste.

Can be used from November to February. Is a beautiful eating apple and a suitable garden variety.
